Our Staff

Hello, my name is Danielle Walsh-Barroso. I am a Co-Director of the Wellsville Montessori School. I started working at WMS in 1996 after receiving my bachelor’s degree from Alfred University with a concentration in Child Development. I continued and earned my Master of Science in Education in 1999. I also hold a New York State Teaching Certificate and have certification from the North American Montessori Teacher Training Centre. I love working with children. In our program, children sometimes start when they are three and stay with us until they are twelve, I love that we get to watch children grow through the years and build a little Montessori family. I take immense pride in this program that I have helped to develop, serving our community with a safe, quality preschool and daycare center. Family is especially important to me and when I am not with my Montessori family you can find me with my own, finding adventures and creating memories.

Karen has been employed with Montessori since 1996.  She has her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and has earned training certificates from the North American Progressive Montessori Teacher Training Centre. 

Hello, I'm MaryLou Willets. I retired from Wellsville Central School two years ago. I enjoy greeting the children and their parents each morning. I love seeing their smiles and watching them learn new things. Outside of Montessori, I enjoy spending time with my husband, traveling, playing golf, and walking our two dogs.​

Hello, my name is Judy Cole and I’ve been with Wellsville Montessori since 2017. Before working in childcare, I spent 15 years as a certified nurse assistant in elderly care. Throughout my five years at Montessori, I’ve had the privilege of watching the children grow both academically and socially. Whether I’m helping with homework or participating in games, the children always keep me on my feet. Outside of Montessori, you can find me still on my feet. As a mother of 5, and grandmother to 10, there is never a dull moment in the time spent with family.

Hello everyone, my name is Cheyenne DeMun. I recently earned my associate's degree in early childhood education from Eastern Gateway Community College. I am currently working towards my bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Central State University. I have been working at Wellsville Montessori for 3 years, and I love every minute of it. I truly love working with children, I enjoy watching the children grow academically and I enjoy seeing the excitement they have when they accomplish a new task. When I am not working at Montessori or working towards my degree you can find me curled up reading a book with my dog Bentley or kayaking down the Genesse River. 

Hello, my name is Shyanne Ashbrook. I have been working at Montessori since 2021, on the B/A side. I love helping the kids with homework, drawings, and being an umpire in outside games. A fun fact about me is I was born and raised in Wellsburg, West Virginia. When I am not at Montessori, you will catch me at cheer practice. I am the head coach of Wellsville Winter Modified. I also enjoy spending time with my younger sister and going on adventures with her.

Wellsville Montessori School Board of Directors

The Wellsville Montessori School Board of Directors is comprised of nine (9) currently seated board members of which are community members and/or parents of children enrolled in the Wellsville Montessori School.  The Board of Directors meet monthly to carry out the responsibilities and duties outlined in our by-laws.
